Black Stone Cherry

Top American rock band, Black Stone Cherry have been announced as special guests of The Darkness at their homecoming concert as part of Forestry Commission Live Music this summer.

Flying the flag for hard, southern rock, Kentucky’s Black Stone Cherry are regulars in the US and UK rock charts. The band’s third album ‘Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea’ scored them their second No 1 album in the UK Rock charts where it has remained for over 40 weeks. Packed with soaring, Southern-fried rock the album is a blistering set of intoxicating anthems, much like a modern version of their heroes Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The band are renowned for extensive touring and the whole of Black Stone Cherry’s UK Spring 2012 tour,  which included a date at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, sold out without a single ticket to be had.

Local hero’s The Darkness exploded into the public consciousness for both their unique brand of glammed-up rock and outrageous stage costumes when their debut album ‘Permission to Land’ shot to number one, spawning new rock anthems including ‘Love is only a Feeling’,  ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’ and ‘Growing on Me’. The band - brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins, Frankie Poullain and Ed Graham have recently released the single ‘Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us’ from their forthcoming third album, and have been confirmed as main support for the European dates of Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way Ball’ tour.

For the gig, a woodland glade in Thetford Forest will be temporarily transformed into a concert venue. With everything required for a great night out, including full catering and bar facilities, the gigs are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere. There’s also an unexpected bonus for concert-goers’ green credentials as income generated from ticket sales is spent on improving the local forest for both people and wildlife.

The Darkness plus special guests Black Stone Cherry will be performing:

Saturday 14th July, Thetford Forest, nr Brandon, Suffolk.

Tickets £36.00 (subject to booking fee) are available from Forestry Commission box office telephone 03000 680400 or buy online at
