FUN WITH FUNGUS IN THE FOREST
Those with an interest in all things fungi related may want to take part in a Fungus Foray in the Forestry Commission's Abbeyford Woods, near Okehampton in Devon.
There are four forays, two on Thursday 9 October at 10.30am and 1.30pm (these sessions are aimed primarily at an adult audience) and then two on Saturday 18 October at the same times. The sessions on Saturday are aimed at families and are suitable for children over the age of 6.
Fungi expert, Jeff Benn will run the events and people will learn how to identify fungi and find out which are edible in Abbeyford Woods, a beautiful mixed woodland.
The events cost £5 per person and booking is essential – call 01392 834233. People should take a fungi field guide if they have one and a notepad and pen.
