Pop trio, Sugababes, have been reported missing on the Forestry Commission estate at Cannock Chase Forest, near Rugeley in Staffordshire, ahead of their live performance there on Saturday the 27th of June.
Fans desperate to get their hands on their pop idols have stolen and torn out two-metre high photos of the girls from a series of large billboard banners situated at Cannock Chase Forest, Lichfield and Uttoxeter.
There are now four cut outs of the Sugababes on the loose in the Staffordshire area, so the Forestry Commission is keen to find them to let more people know about the girls’ appearance at Cannock Chase later this month.
The Sugababes are the latest act to announce their participation in the Forestry Commission’s live music programme this summer.
Alastair Semple from the Forestry Commission at Cannock Chase, says:
“The Sugababes obviously have a lot of fans out there who wanted to get their hands on two-metre versions of their pop idols, but this is vandalism and theft and we would like to see them returned.
“We’re now left with empty spaces that are not very useful for telling people about the girls’ performance at Cannock at the end of the month.”
With multi-million sales and sold out tours, Sugababes have become synonymous with imaginative, cutting edge and effervescent pop music. Their recently released album ‘Catfights and Spotlights’ features the smash hit ‘Girls’ which continues on the success of a stash of classic pop singles like ‘Push The Button’, ‘Round Round’, ‘Ugly’, ‘Change’, ‘Freak Like Me’, ‘Hole In The Head’, ‘Too Lost In You’, ‘About You Now’, ‘Stronger’, ‘In The Middle’, ‘Red Dress’ and ‘Caught In A Moment’.
The Modfather of Rock, Paul Weller, with special guests Twisted Wheel, also take to the stage at Cannock Forest on Friday 26th June.
For the past three years Cannock Chase Forest has been hosting concerts by some of the biggest acts in the music business, all part of Forestry Commission Live Music. This month the venue will be welcoming its 37,000th music fan since the concerts began in 2006, to experience one of their favourite acts performing in this fantastic woodland location.
The Forestry Commission is committed to taking woodlands to new audiences and making them relevant to people in new ways. The forest tour is self-sustaining, paying for itself, and providing valuable revenue to plough back into the woodland in a variety of environmental and social projects.
