The Forestry Commission is urging kids to zap the TV and explore the wilderness on their doorstep!
A feast of outdoor adventure is being staged in 62,000 hectare (155,000-acre) Kielder Forest, Northumberland, during the school holidays.
There’ll be chance to go animal tracking (30 July), search for signs of river wildlife like otters (13 August) and learn how find your way home with a fun orienteering event (3 September).
Ranger Malte Iden said:
“This is just the ticket to beat the summer blues. It’s also a great chance to discover more about our fabulous wildlife.”
