EDINBURGTH TREEFEST COMES TO TOWN

Edinburgh Treefest & Wood Market 2007, Sat 9th & Sun 10th June, Inverleith Park, Arboretum Place, Edinburgh, 11am – 5pm, FREE ENTRY.

This popular family festival is growing from strength to strength. Now in it’s 6th year, the 2007 event promises to be the biggest and best so far. With all the usual favourites – and many new attractions, there is something for everyone at Edinburgh Treefest.

Interactive crafts include – wood turning, willow work, felting, Raku ceramic firing, rope making and demonstrations include tree climbing, axe throwing, extreme mountain biking, and even chainsaw carving.

One of the main features of the event is the popular Wood Market - a great opportunity to buy locally produced, sustainable wood products, e.g. seasoned timber boards, burr elm bowls, stylish pens, cabinets, chairs and tables.

This exciting and interesting festival also offers a wealth of information about renewable energy, careers, education, recycling and even composting.

With great refreshments and entertainment - there is so much going on, you will want to come both days!

There is still time for exhibitors to participate in the event –stand space is available for hire both within the marquees and event arena. With over 20,000 visitors to last year’s event – the 2007 festival could provide the perfect platform to promote products and businesses to a new audience in the heart of the capital. Edinburgh Treefest organisers are particularly keen to include a wide range of timber and non-timber forest products such as construction timber, sheds, garden furniture, fencing, fuelwood, charcoal, baskets, bark, chips, wild venison and tree nurseries.

The event is organised by Four Winds Inspiration Centre, working with the support of Forestry Commission Scotland, City of Edinburgh Council, Scottish Natural Heritage,Treefest Partnership, Scottish Enterprise and Waitrose.
