Research into land regeneration and urban greening is performed on behalf of the Forestry Commission by Forest Research, their research agency. Forest Research are committed to delivering sustainable solutions to woodland establishment in the urban environment through development and implementation of innovative scientific solutions.

Research coverage

The Land Regeneration and Urban Greening Research Group within Forest Research covers three strategic areas:

• Establishing sustainable greenspace in the urban environment
• Waste minimisation
• Evaluating the benefits of greenspace in the urban environment.
