About the Forestry Commission

 

The Forestry Commission has extensive experience of forest, woodland and greenspace establishment on brownfield and contaminated land spanning over forty years.  We have a wide range of regeneration projects in England, Scotland and Wales.

Within the Forestry Commission, various elements combine for land regeneration in GB, with responsiblities ranging from policy decisions, implementation at both a national and district level and research:

• Economic Regeneration Programme provides the framework for England
• Land Regeneration Unit provides support to the Forestry Commission in England on the land regeneration process 
• Corporate and Forestry Services Division is responsible for commissioning research
• Forest Research conducts the research.
