World record attempt for largest tree hug

Tree hugging!

It's official, we have successfully set the world record for largest tree hug!

The final number of participants recorded by Guinness World Records is 702. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who took part and helped make the attempt a success. It was overwhelming to see so many people hugging trees in the Forest at the same time.

To help you remember the day you can download the Forestry Commission world record certificate here, or if you would prefer to purchase an official certificate from Guinness World Records you can do so using this link. Simply enter the claim ID: 357572 and participation code: obqa5910OB.

You can also relive the day by watching the attempt on video via our Love Forests YouTube channel.

If you visit regularly, remember that you can support the Forest and save money with a Delamere Discovery Pass. Click here for more details. And if want to be kept up to date with other events and information taking place in Forestry Commission woodlands 'like' our Facebook page.

Many thanks again,
