From the all access Ridding Wood trail to the demanding Silurian Way, from the Go Ape to The North Face Trail, Grizedale Forest Park offers an unrivalled day out for everyone.

Start your day with a visit to Grizedale Visitor Centre and let our friendly staff help you choose your activities for the day ahead. Cycling, walking, Go Ape!, discovering sculptures and way marked trails are all available or create your own adventure.

The Grizedale Project is transforming Grizedale and our new Visitor Centre and cafe are now open. Please be aware that parts of the site are still undergoing development, please continue check this website for updates.

Cafe in the Forest

Our fantastic new cafe must be one of the best places to eat and relax in the Lake District. In partnership with a great team from the Brewery Arts Centre the new cafe offers not just one but four eating spaces:

  • A country Kitchen for the outdoor enthusiast
  • A restaurant with large picture window into the forest
  • A chic coffee shop corner
  • An outdoor terrace where you share your meal with the natural scenery.

The Cafe in the Forest offers a variety of hot meals and salads, childrens' meals, sandwiches, soups and cakes with a wide range of teas and coffees served by a friendly and professional team. They also serve ice creams and a range of takeway snacks from the "hatch" if you don't have time to sit down to eat and drink.

The Cafe opening hours are 9.30am to 5pm (5.30pm for take away service).

Forest Shop & Visitor Information

Our new Forest shop offers space to browse a range of "I wants" and "must haves". With knowledgeable staff on hand to guide you to one of many forest experiences this is a "must visit" location.

The Visitor Centre and shop are open 10am to 5pm.
