The Forest Research Photo Library has been running since the early 1950's and contains photographs covering all aspects of research and forestry subjects with:

  • Over 40 000 colour transparencies
  • 9 000 black and white prints.

Since 2003 we have undertaken to digitise the more popular of these which can be viewed online at the Forestry Commission Picture Library which is one of the most comprehensive records of life in Britain's forests and woodlands.

Cannot find the pictures that you want?

If you cannot find the pictures that you want in the online library then please contact Glenn Brearley or Sally Taylor (below) and we will search our undigitised photographs for you.

If we do not hold the subject matter you require, it may be possible, if a suitable site can be found and it is within your timeframe, to shoot new material at an agreed reasonable cost.
