About our research

Research being undertaken by the  Forest Research's social scientists, in partnership with other institutions, aims to map and categorise the tree health stakeholder landscape in the UK and beyond. Our goal is to examine how a wide variety of tree health stakeholders potentially contribute to causing, preventing, managing and/or adapting to tree disease and pest invasions.

We also aim to assess and compare levels of knowledge and awareness about tree disease threats amongst different stakeholders and at different stages of an outbreak. We are exploring how a wider range of stakeholders can play a more positive and active role in tree biosecurity, how levels of awareness can be raised, and how community engagement initiatives can contribute to the long-term health of Britain’s trees.
