Phythopthora awareness seminar

19 August 2011

What was the event?

The day was divided into two main sessions.

In the morning the emphasis was on strains of Phythopthora sp. and in particular P. Ramorum and P. Lateralis.  The current situation in Scotland was covered as well as the science of the diseases and the work of Forest Research.  There was also a discussion on the national perspective and practical biosecurity measures.

In the afternoon there were field demonstrations (on our Northern Research Station site) of Air-spade, Air Blaster and Deep Aeration treatment using the Terralift.
