UK Vegetation Fire Standard

Cover of UK Vegetation Fire Standard

This has been developed to encourage the recording and capture of vegetation fire context, occurrence, management and consequences.  It is intended that it will be used by the numerous organisations that have responsibility for the management of wildfire incidents, including the Forestry Commission.

A common protocol has been designed and negotiated with a range of stakeholders so that future monitoring and analysis of fire data can be facilitated.  The Standard contains proposals for a common terminology and data fields for all wildfire incidents, including prescribed burning operations.
