What was the event?

One day meeting that drew together UK scientists interested in long term ecological monitoring, to discuss existing data sets and their findings, and forward actions needed to establish future networks, particularly to monitor the effects of climate change.
Forest Research were represented by:

  • Sue Benham and Rona Pitman, as co-managers of the ICP Forests Intensive monitoring programmes (Level II and FutMon) gave a presentation on ‘Long term monitoring of British forests: organisation, implementation, findings and opportunities’
  • Nadia Barsoum presented a talk on ‘Adaptive management of forest monitoring activities by Forest Research’
  • Elena Vanguelova presented a poster summarising the findings of the Biosoil project on the current status of soils under UK forests will be presented.

Who was the event suitable for?

Forest ecologists in research at all levels, but also open to the interested public.
