Western Peatland Project

What was the event?

Dr Dermot Tiernan of Coillte Teoranta (Eire) described the work of this project and strategic and operational requirements for the future management of low production forests (YC<=10) on western peatland soils along the western seaboard in Ireland.

The talk also provided a brief introduction to Coillte's work in Ireland and mentioned a few main points on the management of the weevil, Hylobius abietis, in Ireland.

Who was the event suitable for?

Forest managers and scientists, particularly those interested in possible management scenarios for forestry on peatlands.
