Landscape ecology - description of BEETLE flowchart

The flowchart shows the the flow of data, inputs and processes in the BEETLE (Biological and Environmental Evaluation Tools for Landscape Ecology) suite of tools.

In BEETLE, the landcover data alone can be used to assess the metrics, or physical measurements, of landscape pattern.

Landcover and species habitat data can be combined to give species-based indicators or metrics of landscape structure.

If movement data is then added, connectivity can be analysed to form habitat networks using the landsacpe function part of the tools.

In addition, it is possible to generate species population models from the species data without the landcover data.
