Paul Taylor studied Earth Sciences at Cambridge University in 1992-5, Environmental Monitoring at Bradford University in 1995-6 and completed an MPhil entitled “Turbulent Flow Over Salmonid Redds”.
He joined Forest Research in 2001 as part of the Short Rotation Coppice project and was soon involved in data management on a broader scale. He has acted as data manager on a variety of other projects including: the Centre for Terrestrial Carbon Dynamics (CTCD - a NERC centre of excellence); core model; amenity trees; short rotation forestry; Level II/Futmon; many projects involving meteorological or soils data; BioSoils; Finance systems; Throughfall; EcoTox; EFWG (Short rotation forestry); Herbivore browsing database; acute oak decline; social events monitoring; Quatermass; Deer culling; SW woodlands monitoring scheme.
Forest Research Data Manager.
Responsibilities include providing support to scientific and systems projects as required. This includes design and maintenance of databases and associated intranet interfaces.
