Ed joined Forest Research in late 2009, having completed an MSc in Conservation and Forest Protection at Imperial College London. Before that he obtained a BA in Biological Sciences from St John’s College, University of Oxford.
Current role
Research Assistant, Centre for Forestry and Climate Change
- Running the operation of the Straits carbon flux site
- Collecting tree cores and analysing ring width data for the dendroclimatology aspect of the MultiFor project
- Assisting with non-CO2 greenhouse gas research at the Straits
- Assisting with the Environmental Change Network meteorology and forest ground flora surveys
- Monitoring the International Phenology Garden at Alice Holt
- Assisting with collections for the Integrated Forest Monitoring programme and management of the associated automated weather stations
- Technical assistance with data logging, meteorology and environmental metrology to various programmes
