Michael Wall joined FC in 1987 after 6 years forestry work in Africa on community afforestation and research station management. After a spell in Forest Surveys and as a District Forester at Sherwood he joined Work Study Branch as team leader for north Scotland in 1990, and took over as head of the newly formed Technical Development Branch in 1992. Michael was Forest District Manager at Castle Douglas from 1997 to 1999 and then set up the new Scottish Lowlands Forest District where he stayed until 2007. Following a 2-year tour as Forestry Estates Advisor working on land acquisition, Michael re-joined Technical Development in 2009.
Leading the Technical Development group in developing, evaluating and promoting safe and efficient methods of work, maintaining output information and providing advice on forest operations.
- Technical Development of woodland operations - Programme Manager.
- Also working in the windfarm / forestry operations interface and implementing forestry land regeneration.
