What was the event?
This year’s ICF Study Tour looked at practical adaptation options within a large productive forest and included a visit to Clashindarroch Forest led by Silviculture experts.
Topics explored included:
- Risks to existing commercial species
- Species selection for the future
- Silvicultural adaptation
- Marketing and processing timber from “future forests”
- Woodland creation for biodiversity, carbon sequestration and quality hardwoods.
Speakers included Sarah Green (Project Manager, Centre for Forestry and Climate Change) and other experts from Forest Research.
