Alison graduated in French and Business Administration from Loughborough University, where she also won the Bowater Scott prize for business. She completed a Diploma in Industrial Studies at Alcan Aluminium before joining Mobil Oil, where she worked in a number of post in the supply, trading and marketing functions, including Market Research Manager and UK Supply Manager. Alison joined Forest Research in 2001.
Current role
Alison manages Forest Research’s Business Development team and is responsible for developing external income and partnership activities. She has particular interests in European funding, developing strategic partnerships and in supporting innovation and knowledge exchange to increase the economic impact of investments in research.
Her roles and responsibilities include:
- Providing expertise and practical assistance to staff regarding the generation of external income, through provision of funding intelligence and support in developing research bids.
- Working with our three Research Centres to develop our partnerships with external research collaborators, policy advisors and the business community.
