Our programme of climate change research on trees, woodlands and forests is wide-ranging, covering important aspects of climate change impacts, adaptation and mitigation.
The research aims to inform both policy and forest management practice. It also supports biosecurity policy, and relates strongly to the ecosystem services approach to evaluating the goods and services that trees and woodlands provide to society. The Forestry Commission spends around a quarter of its research budget with Forest Research on climate change and related programmes.
