Rob joined the Forestry Commission in 1991 as a leading Wildlife Ranger in Tay Forest District (FD). This job gradually evolved to become predominantly a conservation role. He was subsequently promoted to Biodiversity Manager for Tay FD. Since 2004 Rob has also worked part time for Forest Research writing up pine martin research and providing specialist species support.

Producing input for HaRPPS (particularly mammals) including species information and case studies. Assisting with running user group workshops to develop the decision support system.
