What was the event?
A technical seminar that presented the results from a strategic survey of Rhododendron ponticum occupation and potential spread in Argyll and Bute, including costs of clearance, identification and prioritisation of control areas.
The event included a research update on control of rhododendron and the status of Phytophthora ramorum and P kernoviae in Scotland.
A non-technical session covering the basics of rhododendron control and identification of Phytophthora ramorum and P kernoviae for non-forestry specialists was also held.
Who was the event suitable for?
Main event was suitable for managers of woodland and conservation groups with responsibility for rhododendron control. The non-technical session was suitable for horticulturalists, local gardeners, and those interested in nature conservation.
