National School of Forestry Seminar Series 2006/7

 

What was the event?

The aim of this seminar series was to disseminate information on a broad  range of current environmental  issues that are relevant to students and those researching or working in forestry, animal conservation and environmental management.

There were four seminars presented by staff from Forest Research in the spring session:

• Habitat networks, principles, modelling process and applications

• The role of plantations in contributing to biodiversity
  22^nd February 2007
  Chris Quine, Head of Ecology Division
• Establishment Management Information System (EMIS); decision support for forest restocking
  15^th March 2007
  Mike Perks, Forest Management Division
• Remote sensing applications in forestry
  26^th April 2007
  Juan Suarez, Biometrics Division, Forest Research.

Who was the event suitable for?

These talks were aimed at students and anyone with an interest in forestry, animal conservation and environmental management including any in the local community in Cumbria involved in, or concerned about, land use issues.
