Tony Hutchings, MSc
Programme Leader, Environmental and Human Sciences DivisionTony Hutchings leads the Land Regeneration and Urban Greening Group at Forest Research within the Environmental and Human Sciences Division. He has a Masters degree in Soils and Environmental Pollution from the University of Reading. After five years of research on the effects of transboundary air pollution on forest soils and tree health he moved his research focus onto reclaiming contaminated and brownfield land. Current roleProgramme Leader, Environmental and Human Sciences Division Head of the Land Regeneration and Urban Greening Group and represents Forest Research externally, at both a national and international level. Overall, the role of the Head of the Land Regeneration and Urban Greening Group is to ensure an integrated research and development approach is adopted across Forest Research’s land regeneration and urban greening remit and that divisional objectives are achieved with regard to winning new grants/contracts, working in partnership with other organisations and ensuring standards of innovation and scientific excellence.
