EU Framework projects in which Forest Research is involved

Background

The Framework Programme brings the European Union’s (EU’s) research-related initiatives together under a common roof.

The current Framework Programme, FP7, runs from 2007 to 2013 and groups its broad objectives into four categories:

  • Cooperation
  • Ideas
  • People
  • Capacities.

For each type of objective, there is a specific programme corresponding to the main areas of EU research policy.

All programmes promote and encourage the creation of European poles of scientific excellence and seek to realise the overall objective for the EU to become the "most dynamic competitive knowledge-based economy in the world".   The 'knowledge triangle', linking research, education and innovation, is central to European efforts to meet the ambitious goals set out in the Lisbon strategy.

FP7 factsheets are available to answer further questions about FP7’s budget, duration and specific research objectives.

Forest Research involvement

Forest Research has participated in Framework Programmes since FP3.  The outcome of our applications under the first calls of FP7 (submitted in May 2007) have not yet been assessed.

During the prior two Framework Programmes (FP5 and FP6) we have been involved in the projects listed below.
