Health, safety and staff welfare

Health and safety

Forest Research places strong emphasis on the development of safe working practices and the welfare of staff.  We have our own Health and Safety Advisers and also make use of the Forestry Commission Health and Safety Officer.

We comply with all relevant safety legislation and aim always to act as a responsible employer. We monitor health and safety procedures, take action to reduce the number of workplace accidents and investigate measures to reduce avoidable absence due to accidents or ill health.

Staff welfare

Staff welfare services are provided by the Forestry Commission’s network of Regional Welfare Officers.
