Career development

 

Forest Research facilitates and encourages the movement of staff between different parts of the Forestry Commission and other organisations.  We also provide opportunities for career development for scientific staff by a system of ‘fluid grading’ and individual merit promotion.

Training and development

Forest Research first achieved Investor in People status in December 2000 and our accreditation was successfully reviewed in Summer 2003.  Future progress will be continue to be reviewed.

We are committed to the training and development of all staff regardless of position and type of contract, to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to support them in their roles and future development. We provide leadership training for our management and supervisory staff.

Overall, we aim to provide an intellectually stimulating environment for all staff and encourage their collaboration with relevant specialists in other institutes in the UK and throughout the world.
