Ken Charles
Director of PersonnelJoined the Organisation & Methods Branch of the Forestry Commission (FC) on 1974 from HMSO where he worked as a Senior Work Study Officer. He was seconded to the Government of the Solomon Islands in 1976, as Organisation & Methods ‘expert’. In 1980 he moved to Swaziland as Director of the Swaziland Government’s Management Services Division. He re-joined the FC in 1991 and after a spell in Information Division and Management Accounting, took up his present post as Forest Research’s Director of Personnel in 1993. Current roleDirector of Personnel. Manages the personnel function and the administration groups located at Alice Holt and Northern Research Station, which are responsible for provision of a range of personnel and training services, managing accommodation, general administration and advice on Health & Safety throughout Forest Research. Member of the Forest Research Executive Board. Affiliations and achievements- Fellow, The Institute of Management Services.
