Technical Services

 

Technical Services provide technical and environmental services to scientists, woodland managers and land based industries through a national network of Field Stations.

Though most of our work is with the science branches of Forest Research, other customers include Forestry Commission and several external bodies.

We supply information and advice, through investigations, surveys, monitoring, trials and management, providing technology transfer, and the provision of high quality data gathering, interpretation and presentation.

Technical Services provide services that encompass:

• Environmental and subjective surveys, Ecological Site Classifaction (ESC) 
• Electrical and engineering expertise
• Specialised tree breeding and nursery experiments
• Laying out, maintenance and measuring of experiments.

The latest technology is utilised and staff are literate in IT, GIS and GPS.
