Pathology research - Disease risk assessment

Chestnut blight
Chestnut blight, a disease not present in Britain

Pathologists in Forest Research have the responsibility of:

  • Evaluating the risk posed to the trees of this country by pathogens not present here
  • Advising on suitable quarantine measures.

Our pathologists also have a role in monitoring the status of native pathogens and of advising on risks posed by such pathogens to specific sites.
