Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. My owner and me

I am a little Labrador retriever – and I’m only five months old so I get lots of cuddles from people who pass me by in the street. I am looked after by recreation ranger Paul, who takes me for walks lots, which I really love.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Favourite treat

It has to be chocolate drops. They are so yummy!

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Best trick

I always impress people by winking with one eye.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Arch rival

I really don't like floor brushes. I usually bark at them until they stop moving!

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Favourite places for a walk

I love walking along the Noble Knott trails with Paul. These trails are quiet and there are no mountain bikers to scare me. There are also a couple of streams which I jump and splash in!

I tend to drink from the streams, but there are also dog bowls handily placed outside the cafe. Only guide dogs are allowed inside.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Other useful information

As there are no dog bins in the forest, poo bags are available from the information kiosk, which owners need to take home with them. I'm also told that when dogs are near the play area they have to stay on a lead. Leads, harnesses, biscuits and toys are also available from the Rheged Whinlatter shop. Visit Whinlatter Forest for more information about what's available on site.
