Visits for schools and groups

Ranger with children on a wildlife safariWe offer four types of visits so that you can pick the option that best suits your needs.

All learning visits must be booked in advance.

Led programmes (excluding team building)

Our leaders will guide you and your groups through the booked programme.

  • Charges for 2016/17:
    • half day (approximately 2 hours), £5 per pupil, minimum £125
    • whole day (approximately 4 hours) £8 per pupil, minimum £200
  • Charges include one Forestry Commission (FC) leader for class. (If the programme needs more than on FC leader per class we will charge an additional £60.)
  • Bookings include a complimentary admission parking quota - contact us for more information on 0300 067 4474.
  • Visiting teaching staff, leaders and helpers accompanying groups are free of charge.
  • We offer support for led visits including drafting programmes and providing guidance, including risk assessments. We also welcome pre-visits to the site.

Team building led by Kent High Weald Partnership 

Help your class or group to develop vital skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication and leadership. We offer a range of fun, exciting and challenging activities for schools and groups for schools and groups.

Ranger in a Bag (R.I.A.B.)

A lower cost visit, but still with expert help to plan the day. These resource backpacks provide all you need to run your own successful educational visit at Bedgebury. Each activity bag contains equipment, games and resources for a class of up to 35 children. 

  • If we led your group last year, why not come back this year and try Ranger in a Bag?
  • Flexible visit of provided activities where you set your own pace.
  • Hire charges: £35 per pack per session, £50 for two packs.
  • Why not hire two packs of your choice to make your own full day programme?
  • Free pre-visit session with a member of FC learning staff who will help you to plan your visit, go through the learning packs and show you the site.
  • We will welcome your group on the day of your visit and hand over your pre-booked activity packs.
  • Reduced vehicle admission charges applicable when packs are booked.

DIY visits

Where you do not buy into our programmes but look after yourselves from start to finish.

  • Flexibility to do your own thing.
  • Standard vehicle admission charges apply.

  • Sorry, use of classroom and reserved undercover seating not available.
