Half Day Ranger Led Sessions - Early Years and KS1

The Enchanted Forest - Half day 'Ranger Led'. Introduction to the forest and its magical inhabitants on arrival. Meet Horace, Boris and Doris the 3 little dragons who live in the forest and help them track down their naughty cousin Norris, who has a habit of running off with peoples packed lunches!! This programme awakens the children's imaginations and helps them to discover all sorts of exciting new things on their journey of discovery.

 Key concepts: Habitats, survival, imagination, story telling and senses.


Key Stage 1 Learning Programmes

Forest Habitats KS1 - Half day 'Ranger Led'. Powerpoint presentation on arrival, followed by a morning in the forest collecting leaves, learning basic tree ID and exploring the forest environment. The children will learn about the forest habitat through games and activities, such as bug hunts and seasonal colour games.Sweet chestnut leaves and fruit

Key concepts: Habitats, germination, tree ID, sustainable forests, food chains and hibernation (autumn term).

"Who lives in your forest" - Forest Homes - Ranger Led (half day). After a short presentation on wildlife and trees, go on a forest safari to discover forest animals and their homes. Find out how they have adapted to their environment. Take part in bug hunts and seasonal activities.

Key concepts: Habitats, tree, plant and animal ID, camouflage, hibernation and adaptations.

To make a full day, choose from one of our self led 'Ranger in a bag' programmes. These include:- mini beasts, shelter building, art, sensory, forest detectives and pond dipping or simply relax and do your own thing for the rest of the day.

Led visits:- £5.50 per child (includes room hire). Make your visit a full day option by using our equipment at no extra cost.

Self led:- 'Ranger in a bag' up to two programmes per class £50, room hire £60.
