The Woodland Carbon Code OGB 46

OGB 46 deals with the Woodland Carbon Code – a standard which sets out design and management requirements for voluntary UK-based projects that aim to sequester carbon through woodland creation.

The purpose of the Woodland Carbon Code OGB is to:

  • provide a background to our staff on why this subject is important for you to understand;
  • provide clear guidance to our staff on the Code and applying it across Great Britain (GB);
  • provide clarity over the role of the Woodland Carbon Code in increasing woodland creation and the development of the voluntary woodland carbon market in the UK; and
  • place our staff in a position to promote the Woodland Carbon Code as a contribution to those hoping to create woodlands.
