Forest Live 2015
Forest Live is the Forestry Commission’s concert series taking place in seven fabulous forest venues throughout England
Tom Odell - at Bedgebury - friday 19 June 2015
We are delighted to confirm the uniquely talented Tom Odell has announced a very special tour of the nation’s forests for 2015 and will be coming to Bedgebury on friday 19 June.
Commenting on his forest gigs, Tom Odell said, “This will be a whole new experience for me. I can’t wait to bring my live show to the woods and I hope to see you there.”
When the exceptionally talented Tom Odell released his debut album ‘Long Way Down’ in June 2013 it shot straight to number one. He heard the news whilst performing on the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury that year.
Chosen to perform the soundtrack to this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert, the 24-year-old has added his spine-tingling vocals to a cover of John Lennon’s classic ‘Real Love’, generating millions of YouTube views. Tom is currently in the studio recording his new album.
Described by The Telegraph as “utterly compelling”, singles from the album including ‘Can’t Pretend’, ‘Hold Me’ and the gargantuan ‘Another Love’ illustrate a song-writing maturity beyond his years. This has resulted in his achieving the ultimate industry accolade of ‘Songwriter of the Year’ at the 2014 Ivor Novello Awards as well as previously winning the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award for 2013. Following a succession of sold out headline tours and with ‘Long Way Down’ being certified gold, a packed summer of festival appearances in 2014 included V Festival, Isle of Wight and a show supporting one of his idols Neil Young at Hyde Park.
Tickets £34.50 (plus £3.45 booking fee) go on sale from 9.00am Friday 19 December from Forestry Commission Box Office or ring 03000 680400
Paloma Faith - at Bedgebury - saturday 20 June 2015
Following her sold out forest tour in 2013 the Forestry Commission is proud to once again present the unique Paloma Faith at all seven Forest Live venues, and we are delighted to welcome her back to Badgebury Pinetum.
Commenting on the forest shows, Paloma Faith told Forest Live “We are very lucky in Britain to have such a beautiful and diverse landscape and I am excited to play for you there again. See you all in the summer!”
Paloma’s third album ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ was one of the huge success stories of 2014 and her fastest selling album to date, certified platinum and scoring hit singles with, ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ and ‘Can’t Rely On You’. As a side project she notched up her first number one collaborating with British drum and bass duo Sigma on the single ‘Changing’. Debut album ‘Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?’ and follow-up ‘Fall To Grace’ have also contributed to sales of over 1.7 million in the UK alone; no mean feat for an artist only three records into their career.
Tickets £38.50 (plus £3.85 booking fee) go on sale from 9.00am Friday 23 January from Forestry Commission Box Office or ring 03000 680400
