BBQs and picnics

Family barbecue at Wenchford picnic site. Forest of Dean

Visitors are welcome to barbecue and picnic at Beechenhurst, there are several picnic tables situated on the grass in front of the lodge. 

Refreshments are available on site at Beechenhurst Cafe including ice creams, fresh coffee and cakes.

There are 2 special barbeque areas which can be booked out from the Forestry Commission in advance.  Sorry but no on the day bookings can be taken.

The Glade (adjacent to Tree Top Junior) comes complete with a large covered gas barbecue, picnic tables and grass surround.  The venue is ideal for families, groups, corporate outdoor activities and charity events.  On busy days overflow parking will be opened up on the hardstanding area.

Colliers View has 2 barbecue sites available for hire.  Each site has a metal barbecue hearth (bring your own charcoal) 2 picnic tables for your exclusive use and 2 free allocated parking spaces.

Alternatively, bring your own barbecue for use on the main grass area in front of the lodge but please keep disposable barbecues raised off the grass and do not place on the wooden picnic tables.

A special barbecue bin is situated on the main grass area, please damp down your disposable barbecue at the outdoor tap then place in the bin. 

All other picnic or barbecue rubbish should either be taken home or put in the recycling bins, located near the lodge.
