Walking in Delamere

Enjoying an autumn walk in Delamere Forest ParkDelamere is an ideal place to go for a walk. There are dry sandstone paths, lots of mature trees to shade or shelter under depending on the weather and Blakemere Moss, a lake ideal for bird watchers.

Delamere Forest provides many gentle forest roads and trails ideal for the less able or families with children. In addition, Old Pale provides a superb new destination to walk to with spectacular views extending as far as Liverpool's famous skyline of cathedrals and harbour buildings.

Are you interested in orienteering?

There are 6 courses available, from an easy stroll (1.2km) to a more technical 6.4km tour of the forest. We have a map pack with full guidance available for £1.50 at Tracs Bike Hire and shop, and if you would like to know more about orienteering please contact the local group Deeside Orienteering Club.
