Projects are required to show that legal ownership (or tenure) of the project area for the duration of the project, can be demonstrated.
One way of proving ownership is by accessing title registers and plans in the land registry, if the project area is registered. The relevant land registries can be accessed here:
Other suitable forms of evidence of ownership include:
- Title deeds
- Solicitor's letter
- Woodland creation grant contract signed by the owner.
If the land is leased, a certified copy of the lease is also required.
