Car parking

Pay and display parking charges apply. The charges are £1 for 1 hour or £3 for all day.

Money raised from this car park goes towards the maintenance of the visitor centre, the trails and the wider forest.

Purchase a Discovery Pass: £40 for a years free parking at Birches Valley and Hicks Lodge.

Opening hours

The car park is open from 8am and closes at 8pm.

Food and Drink

Run by AE catering, Hicks Lodge Cafe is open 364 days a year, serving a wide range of hot and cold food to eat in or takeaway...

The cafe and cycle centre are open between 9am - 5pm daily and open late every Thursday until 9pm.

Hicks Lodge National Forest

Bike Hire

Hicks Lodge Cafe and Cycle Centre have a range of mountain bikes available to hire.

Hire rates are: 1 hour £8.00, 2 hours £12.00, 3 hours £16.00, Tag a longs & child Seats £5.00.

Sorry, but we are unable to take bookings for bike hire.

Toilets are located adjacent to Hicks Lodge Café and include baby changing and accessible facilities. The toilets are opened and closed at the same time as the cafe.
