A minimum of 8 weeks advance notice is required prior to your intended event date but the longer the better to ensure good planning and to accommodate changes.
What we need you to send us
Guidance notes are available to assist with understanding the application process. You will need to send us the following completed forms and paperwork:-
- Permission Application form pdf
- Risk Assessment
- Copy of Public Liability Insurance certificate to a minimum value of £2 million for low impact activities (e.g. small group walking activities with <25 people). For all other activities, the minimum insurance cover is £5 million. Applicants should always double check with their insurers that the planned activity fits within the existing terms of their policy.
- An emergency action plan
- Evidence of competence e.g. copies of relevant qualifications/affiliations for instruction, equipment or first aid.
- Map of the forest area and any routes you wish to use. You can use the MAGIC website for this or Ordnance Survey Get a Map.

Please complete and send all the above to us. You can email these to your permission manager or send them to the address below ensuring that it is marked for the attention of the wood, or the manager.
