Salcey Forest is the ideal place for all kinds of outdoor learning.
What we offer for schools
The diverse woodland of Salcey Forest allows us to offer a very wide range of learning opportunities, covering many areas of National Curriculum and examining body requirements, including Science, Geography, Art, Agriculture, English, Maths, History and Citizenship. We also provide seasonal and bushcraft courses.
Our emphasis is on direct, first-hand investigation and exploration using a variety of teaching methods for different learning styles.
We offer ready-made courses for Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes. Lists of our ready-made courses are available on our website to download. We are also able to provide tailor-made courses to suit specific time scales, ages, abilities, subject requirements and equality, diversity or inclusion issues or needs.

Forest School is for groups from schools or other establishments. It is aimed at all ages. It is a regular long term experience where your group visits the woodlands several times. You may be interested in booking a group or class for Forest Schools, perhaps using your pupil premium. If so please contact us at email@example.com
Ranger in a Bag
If you are interested in exploring the woodland as a self guided class you may be interested in our Ranger in a Bag provision. Designed by the Forestry Commission with teacher in mind these bags can be hired and provide the resources for one class. Choose from;

Please note: We do not allow pond-dipping type activites at Salcey as the water bodies are deemed unsuitable.
It’s not just schools who may join in the fun at Salcey Forest. We offer a wide range of activities for children and families as well.
Facilities available to schools include toilets (including disabled), which also used by the general public, a public picnic area, waymarked trails, coach parking area and a café. There is currently no indoor provision for a class at Salcey Forest.
