Berks, Bucks & Oxon Woodland Forum

Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Woodland ForumThe river Thames flooding at Wallingford, Oxfordshire due to exception rainfall. Jan 1994.

There are many woodland fora at the county level and we have a forum for Berkshire Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. The Forestry Commission established this forum in March 2003.  This has proved very popular with the 35- 45 regular attendees.

Aims & objectives

  • Provide a central point for the exchange of information.  The focus will be about woodland but can include other land based and environmental issues.
  • Increase awareness of the issues concerning woodlands and their management.
  • Provide a means to discuss and consult with a wide range of woodland stakeholders to help inform future decisions and direction.
  •  Keeping all aware of the Big Society issues

Format

The Forestry Commission manage the group in terms of providing a Chair, location and agenda. Meeting twice a year the agenda will include a number of short presentations from invited participants followed by questions and discussion.  The aim is for an informal atmosphere that encourages input and debate.  The agenda is made up from suggestions from invitees and issues of the day
