Nottinghamshire Practical Conservation Groups

Do you enjoy the outdoors, getting stuck in and like a bit of hard work?  Why not join the Forestry Commission for an assortment of practical conservation tasks where you really can make a difference to our habitats and the wildlife living within them.

Practical tasks in the Ollerton Area

Sessions are held every Wednesday afternoon at 12.30pm normally meeting at Ollerton Pit Woods car park.  Work is carried out on a variety of sites in the local area including Clumber, Bevercotes Pit Wood, Boughton Brake as well as Ollerton Pit Woods. 

There will be some winter sessions monthly on a Friday in Birklands.  The dates are as follows;

Woodland Workout in Nottinghamshire

Every Thursday (10am - 2pm) we rotate round a series of maturing Community Woodlands in North Nottinghamshire. The team get involved in pruning, coppicing, stile and fence repairs, brash burning and more. If you are interested in coming please contact Seb on phone 07786 114633 or fill in an expression of interest form and email Seb.

Weekend Workout

The Ranger team meet every third Sunday of the month and get involved in a range of tasks across sites; from coppicing, brash burning, crown lifting, fence repairs and wetland management. 10am -2pm with a cuppa or two thrown in too!
