Using Woodfuel Stoves

Log and wood pellet stoves are increasing in popularity as a way of heating domestic properties. Both offer considerable CO2 savings compared to fossil fuel boilers, particularly when the fuel is produced locally.
Grants of up to £600 are available to install automatic pellet stoves in private homes from the Low Carbon Building Programme.
To avoid excess smoke from log stoves, it is important that firewood is well seasoned, and that stoves are operated correctly.  We have prepared a guide to choosing and drying logs for more information.
