Accidents: Investigating and Reporting

The Forestry Commission manages its work and environment, either in the Forest, Workshop or Office, to reduce the risk of accidents to:

  • staff
  • the public
  • contractors
  • volunteers
  • visitors

The aim of this booklet is to provide Forestry Commission staff with the knowledge required to deal with an accident in an efficient and effective way. The booklet will help staff to:

  • understand which procedure to follow
  • understand who to tell when an accident happens
  • know who to ask for advice and help
  • educate a team on what to do if an accident occurs
  • know their responsibilities
  • know which forms to complete
  • know who to send completed forms to
