Funding for Forestry information
A list of woodland related machinery distributors and manufacturers has been created on the FC website to help funding applicants find alternative makes and suppliers of equipment.
On-Line Directories
Woodlots – the regional website for woodland products and services. Set up your own classified advert on-line for free.
Stoves Online - is a website that returns relatively early in the search rankings and offers a free facility to add an advert for your firewood business. The customers search on the first section of a postcode and distance to travel to discover all the firewood suppliers that are advertising in the area. Coppice Products – Originally set up in conjunction with Hampshire County Council but now run nationally by The Small Woods Association.
Allotment Forestry – national website with regional pages. Contains adverts for a number of coppice workers in the region.
Local Charcoal – national website giving listings of charcoal producers by county. It also gives an explanation of why people should buy local charcoal and gives information how charcoal is produced.
Job Search
The Countryside Jobs Service – a national website with regional job pages.
Forestry Commission vacancies - all external vacancies at the forestry Commission are advertised on this page.
Timber Trade Federation – Education, Training and Careers
Countryside Jobs Link – a site that gives advice on job hunting and has links to many organisation that use countryside skills.
Horticulture Jobs – an arm of the publication Horticulture Week. Can contain some forestry jobs but mainly arb etc.
Local Coppice Groups and Woodland Initiatives
These groups comprise a variety of woodland skills. Members of the groups are often involved in firewood production and firewood sales.

FC Forestry Statistics: statistics for the industry covering several decades
Timber Transport Toolkit published by The Timber Transport Forum is the result of partnership working to share experiences of timber transport planning in order to evolve best practices and inform others.
Reports on New Equipment and Techniques are regularly produced by the Technical Development Branch of Forest Research. They are useful to improving the efficiency or effectiveness of woodland management, e.g. Small-scale systems for harvesting woodfuel products. Some of these reports are available to be downloaded and others can be purchased.
