The RE:LEAF Community Grant Scheme will support projects that promote tree and woodland projects, and have clear, tangible community benefits and engage local communities. Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 are available to any organisation or group able to represent the wider community. As with the Mayor’s Street Tree Initiative there will be three funding rounds, with the first now open until 16th November 2012.
We are particularly keen to support projects that deliver some of the priorities of the RE:LEAF initiative, including the establishment of community tree nurseries and community orchards, or tree planting projects that improve local environmental quality. The grant can also fund community-led woodland management projects.
This year's scheme is now open for applications. All applications for this year's round must be received by the 16th November 2012.
