Seasonal audio trail downloads

Douglas Firs. Westonbirt ArboretumEach season you can download an audio trail to accompany one of our seasonal trails. Details of these seasonal trails and the routes are found in the free seasonal guide received on arrival or available from the Great Oak Hall.

Each seasonal trail stop has its own corresponding audio recording.

Winter 2008

This winter the audio recordings accompany the Silk Wood seasonal trail - you can download a route map. On each you can discover more about Silk Wood and the remarkable stories behind some of its trees from expert Simon Toomer, Westonbirt's Curator.

Silk Wood Winter Trail Audio

The trail will be available from the 1st December - 1st March 2009.

Stop A - the working woods

Stop B - a great big Christmas tree, and the secrets behind that familiar shape

Stop C - the history behind Westonbirt's special landscape

Stop D - a tree that's had a bit of a haircut

Stop E - scruffy or majestic? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....

Stop F - education, education, education - what is an arboretum really for?

Stop G - a passion for plants - past and present

Stop H - nature's cathedrals

Stop I - a double edged sword...

Stop J - meeting trees in the wild

Audio recordings are very new to Westonbirt and we would love to hear what you think about them so that we can improve them in future. Please email any comments to the Interpretation Manager.
